Colorful tops with your favorite jeans
In the three-person photos, two friends wear crochet tops beside a friend in a coral strapless top. Jeans give the group a shared starting point. The tops bring in different colors, textures, and shapes.
I love how much room this leaves for each person's style. One friend can choose a print while another wears a solid color. The outfits work together, and you can still see what each person picked.
To try this with your friends, choose your jeans first. You can each wear the cut you like best. Then send photos of your tops in the group chat. Look for a color that shows up in more than one outfit, or colors you like side by side.
If one top has several colors, use it as a starting point. A friend can pull out one of those colors for a solid top. You get a shared palette without having to buy the same shirt.

One of my favorite outfit pairings here puts denim overalls and a black top next to a blue-purple tank and a long red-and-green patterned skirt. Both looks feel casual, with plenty of room to move.
The skirt adds a large print. The overalls bring in denim and a different shape. Against the white studio background, you can see the details in both.
Try this pairing if one of you loves skirts and the other lives in denim. Start with clothes you already reach for. Compare the full outfits, including what you plan to wear under the overalls. A solid top can give a bold skirt or a textured piece some room in the photo.

Choose clothes you can move in

Sit down. Lift your arms. Take a few steps. Check how your top stays in place and how your skirt or pants feel when you bend. Choose the pieces you can wear without stopping to fix them every few seconds.

Compare the whole group before your session
Once everyone has picked a favorite outfit, put the photos beside each other. A phone collage works well for this. Check three things:

Print: Can you see each outfit clearly? Compare a bold print with a solid piece to see which mix you prefer.
Dress level: Are you all planning casual clothes, dressed-up looks, or a mix you chose together?
For a group of three, include all three outfits in the collage. A pair can look different once you add the third look. This also helps each friend see the plan before packing.
