Bolivar High School Senior Trip 2026: NYC & Washington, DC
It’s been some time since my senior trip this past Spring, but looking back at the photos from it made me want to go back and do it all over again. Our senior trip was PACKED. We got to walk around the busy streets of New York, go to the top of the World Trade Center, visit Washington DC and all the monuments, see a couple museums, and so much more!
My favorite part of the trip was the day we got to see the Smithsonian museums and eat pizza on the front lawn of the capitol. The sunset was gorgeous and the weather was just beautiful. The best part about that day though was getting to sit and enjoy the company of all my friends, and talk about the past 12 years of life we got to experience together.
After my time during senior trip, I want to share a little advice with the upcoming seniors for theirs:
Focus more on being in the moment than on the next thing.
As I mentioned before, senior trip is full of so many fun things to do, which is so exciting when you’re thinking about all the things you’ll get to see and do, but constantly thinking about what’s next can take away from the whole experience. If you’re always looking forward to what comes after, you’ll forget to take in everything in the moment.
This includes taking photos. Try not to make the mistake of thinking, “I need the perfect photo for my instagram post.” Worrying about posts and how you’ll look in pictures will take away from the fun of it.
It’s perfectly fine to be excited for all the future events, just remember to focus on where you’re at and what you’re doing in that moment too.
This is what I had to keep telling myself and it ended up making the experience so much better! I started out just looking to the next event in the beginning, which made it almost impossible to feel like I was actually there. When I started focusing more on where I was in the moment, it made the rest of the trip feel so much more exciting and fun and enjoyable.
