Winston brought his drum for his first birthday photos at the studio, and I’m so smitten! I’ve known his momma, Hannah, for so long. Getting to have her here at the studio made me so happy.
Hannah is gifted with music and is sharing that with her children. She brought drums for Winston, along with some of his other favorite things: his wagon, Tigger, a book, and his blanket.

Winston’s first birthday photos in Bolivar, MO
Winston had his hands on the drum, a mallet to hold, and plenty to explore. He even took a seat right on top of the drum. His blue shirt and striped overalls went along for all of it.
I love that Hannah brought things he already knew and loved. They made his session feel personal and helped Winston feel at home.
His wagon, Tigger, and favorite book
Tigger got a ride in the red wagon, and Winston had a book to carry along. Then came the toy basketball and dump truck. There was so much for him to play with, all right there on the studio floor.
That’s something I love seeing during kids photo sessions in Bolivar. A child has time to play, and you get photos with the things they love at that age.

Winston held his blanket up, smiled over the top, and stood on it between photos. Those little grins.
As kids come back to the studio, the space becomes familiar. They know they get to play and spend time with people who love them. I love getting to watch that happen with families here in the 417.
