417 Studio Black & White Photo Session
I had so much fun getting to photograph such an amazing person like my sister!
I really wanted to capture her young, free-spirited personality, and I feel like I did just that through these pictures. I could see her confidence grow as the shoot went on and I’m so glad I was able to photograph these beautiful moments. We had such a great time making each other laugh and talking about life, just being sisters. She’s truly a blessing to my life and getting to showcase all the things that I love about her was just so special to me.
We decided to shoot in black and white for this session, and it was the right call. Black and white has a way of stripping everything back and putting all the focus on the person in front of the camera. No distractions. Just her.
There's something different about photographing someone you already know. You're not spending the first half of the session breaking down walls because they're already down. We went straight into the good stuff, the real expressions, the in-between moments, the ones that actually look like her.
For anyone curious about black and white portrait sessions, this is a great example of what they can look like. They work really well in the studio where you can control the light and let the contrast do its thing. The images feel timeless in a way color doesn't always deliver.
