Adelyn worked through four setups at the studio: the index cards, a monthly calendar, an open journal, and the backpack.

Every setup got shot wide enough for a blog header and tight enough for a Reel cover. The close-ups show her handwriting. The wider photos leave room to see the whole setup.

Index cards, highlighters, and Spanish vocabulary‍ ‍

The cards carry the set. Adelyn wrote FOOD, HOME, and School as headers, filled the lines with Spanish vocabulary, then quizzed herself with the stack fanned out in one hand and a lavender highlighter still capped in the other.

Writing terms on cards and pulling them back from memory has a name. Duke's Academic Resource Center calls it retrieval practice, the work of recalling a concept rather than glancing back over notes, and Cornell's Learning Strategies Center lists the same habit among its effective study strategies.

The paper calendar and the open journal

A spiral monthly calendar sat open beside the cards with an after school block written down the left margin. The journal underneath is full front to back, with a blue sticky note marking a to-do list.

The last setup moved to white seamless. A floral backpack in pink, mint, and brown, unzipped, with Adelyn's hands going through the front pocket. Cropped at the shoulders so the bag stays the subject.
